Thomas Current

Thomas Current was born on June 13, 1931 to the late Willie and Eddie Current in Woodson, Arkansas. He was educated in the Little Rock School District. Thomas accepted Christ at an early age, he was a faithful and active member at First Baptist Woodson Church where he served on the Trustee Board until his health failed. He served his country in the Army where he gained many experiences. Thomas moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he met and married Anne B. Edwards who preceded him in death, to that union four daughters were born. During his time in Milwaukee, he worked for 40 years, retired and returned to Woodson, Arkansas. Upon his return to Woodson, he met and married, the love of his life, Jeanette Caffey.

Thomas departed this life in the early morning hours of March 10, 2019 in the comfort of his home surrounded by his wife, Jeanette and their dog, King. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Jeanette Current of Redfield, Arkansas; his surviving sister, Louise Goines,; his six daughters; Alberta A. Meneese of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Linda O. Johnson of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Linda Fay Johnson of Woodson, Arkansas, Glenda L. Current of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Janet A. Current of Las Vegas, Nevada, Barbara Cooper (Lonnie Cooper) of Cabot, Arkansas; one son, Eric Caffey (Felicia Caffey) of Little Rock, Arkansas and his sister-in-law, Ludell Current. He leaves a legacy of twenty-three grandchildren, fifty-three great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren with a total of 93 descendants. Thomas also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to cherish his memory. Funeral services are entrusted to Gillespie Brothers Funeral Home and will be held at First Baptist Of Woodson 24100 N Barton St Woodson, AR on Friday, March 15,2019 @ 11:30a.m.
